Chaplain ministry is a great opportunity to connect with people and hear their stories. After over ten years of serving as a chaplain I continue to be amazed at how important is to be present with someone and listen to their stories. Life can throw many unexpected curves and most of us tend try to keep things to ourselves and act as if everything is ok. But after a while the accumulated stress can get to us and we need a place to let it out. Chaplains are trained and skilled at listening to the concerns and stories of others, giving them the opportunity to share what is going on with them. They provide a safe place to be open about what is going on with someone who genuinely cares. We cannot always change or fix our circumstances but we can be there for each other as we walk through them together.

Chaplain Services Inc (CSI) is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Chaplain Services started in 1950 principally serving the chaplaincy needs of patients in acute care, long term and assisted care facilities in West Michigan. Not long after, healthcare human resources decision-makers asked CSI to provide chaplaincy services onsite to their healthcare workers. For ten years now, CSI has been providing experienced and routinely trained chaplains not only to healthcare facilities and health workers, but also to institutional, industrial, education, transportation, construction, and office workers in Western Michigan.

We are contracted by company owners, plant, facilities and HR managers to provide chaplaincy services as a workplace benefit to employees at every level of an organization. The benefits to employers and employees are many.

Most of our clients are within 50 miles of Grand Rapids. Most of our clients employ between 30 and 100 employees. And most engage our professional chaplains for extended contracts of between 12 and 36 months. But, there are always exceptions. And short-term, project-style, or specific-purpose engagements (e.g. post-traumatic crisis counseling) are also possible.

We are a Christian organization whose, purpose is to provide an economical, objective, professional, confidential ministry of "being there." We are respectful of all faith traditions.
